PCB storage and shelf life

After the final inspection of the finished PCB board, the pcb will be vacuum-packed and stored for shipment. So why should the PCB board be vacuum packed? How long is its shelf life after vacuum packaging? SDY PCB manufacturer will give you a brief introduction to the storage method of PCB board and its shelf life.

Why is the PCB board vacuum packed? Although this problem is small, but it is a problem that many pcb circuit board manufacturers attach great importance to. Because once the PCB board is not sealed, the surface of the gold, tin and solder will be oxidized and then will affect the soldering, which is not conducive to production.

So how to store the PCB? The board is no more than other products, it can't be in contact with air and water. First of all, the vacuum of the PCB board can not be damaged. When packing, it is necessary to enclose a bubble film on the side of the box. The water absorption of the bubble film is better, which plays a important role in preventing moisture. And the moisture-proof beads are also indispensable. Then classified emissions and labeled. After sealing, the box must be stored in a dry and ventilated place, separated from the ground, and should be protected from sunlight. The temperature of the warehouse is preferably controlled at 23±3°C, 55±10%RH. Under such conditions, the surface treated PCB boards such as immersion gold, electric gold, HASL, silver-plated can generally be stored for 6 months, Surface-treated PCB boards such as immersion silver, immersion tin, and OSP can be stored for 3 months.
